Steve Anderson
Hi, I’m Dr. Steven Anderson. Director of the Harborlight Baptist Ministry and this is my wife Gayle. Together we share a communed burden to help assist our missionaries and pastors in reaching the lost for Christ. To help strengthen church ministries, and to help assist pastors in encouraging their congregation to remain faithful to the Lord and to the church.
I was 18 years old when I turn my life over to the Lord while attending the Madison Avenue Baptist Church. I am now 53. Gayle and I have been working for the Lord in the church since my salvation. We spent most of our lives working as youth directors in a number of Baptist church’s. I enjoyed working with the teenagers greatly.
In 2001 I graduated from Liberty University and in 2007 I received my Doctor of Theology degree. In 2005 I was ordained into the ministry. Today I teach at our churches bible institute.
The Lord called me into service while having devotions with my son one morning. The verses He chose are found in Luke. Luke 5:4b; 10b; 4:43. I’ve read these verses many times before. But that morning he spoke to my heart. I then surrendered my service to whatever He had in store for me. The Lord changed my direction to working for Him as a missionary.
In September 2005, Pastor Jenkins and I had the opportunity to travel to the Philippines. While in the Philippines, the Lord burdened my heart for these people and the people of Asia. They have very little, but what they have they use for the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ and our God, to reach the lost in Asia. It breaks our heart to see us in America wasting the provisions that the Lord has freely given us.
Our burden is to collect supplies from churches across America, and ship them to the pastor’s and missionaries around the world. This will aid them in reaching the lost for Christ. It is also an encouragement to them, to see that we care about them oversees. Gayle’s and my joy is that we will be working with the Lord and you together in this great endeavor.
As churches collect the supplies, we will come and pick them up and bring them back to our warehouse for repair and storage until shipping. We will then pack them into a container and ship them to their destination. We are working with two different pastors in the Philippines that will receive the containers and disburse the items to those that need them. I will be making trips into the countries that we have shipped the items, to make sure that they are being used for the glory of our Lord.
I Pray that you will join us in reaching the lost thru providing supplies and encouragement to pastor’s and missionaries around the world.
